Overview
ABM is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Janitorial Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations across multiple facilities in Hopkinsville, KY. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising janitorial staff, maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinating cleaning operations, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Candidates with supervisory experience and a janitorial or custodial background are strongly preferred.
Pay: $24.00 per hour. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
Location: 100 Weymans Way Hopkinsville KY and 1600 N Main Street, Hopkinsville KY
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff to ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.
- Serve as a working supervisor by providing hands-on support with cleaning duties as needed.
- Schedule and assign cleaning tasks, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Train and onboard new janitorial staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Travel between multiple work locations as needed to support operations and staff.
- Address and resolve issues or complaints related to cleaning services in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and coordinate replenishment as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and company policies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and overall job performance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff schedules, and maintenance concerns.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, and customers to ensure service expectations are met.
- Assist with special projects and high-demand situations as needed.
- Develop and implement cleaning procedures and best practices to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or related service operations.
- Strong leadership and employee coaching skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to travel between multiple work sites as needed.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe footwear.
- Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising cleaning teams in manufacturing, industrial, healthcare, educational, or large commercial facilities.
- Experience with scheduling software and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of green cleaning practices and sustainability initiatives.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
