Position Summary:
The Director, Human Resources Business Partner serves as a trusted strategic advisor to senior operational leaders within one of ABM's largest commercial business segments. This role partners closely with executive leadership to shape and execute business strategy through organizational design, talent strategy, leadership effectiveness, workforce planning, change management, and culture initiatives.
The successful candidate brings significant experience supporting large-scale commercial real estate, integrated facilities services, or similarly complex operations-based organizations. They excel at partnering with geographically dispersed senior operational leaders, influencing without direct authority, and driving business outcomes through strategic talent management. This leader thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment while navigating organizational transformation.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP, HR Business Partners and senior executives to develop and execute business, organization, talent, and culture strategies aligned to business priorities.
- Serve as the primary strategic HR advisor to a diverse, geographically dispersed senior operations leadership team.
- Coach executives and senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, organizational health, workforce planning, succession planning, and team effectiveness.
- Lead organizational design initiatives that ensure the business has the right structure, capabilities, and talent to achieve strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic talent management initiatives, including succession planning, leadership assessment, high-potential development, talent reviews, and critical role planning.
- Partner with Learning & Talent Development to strengthen leadership capability and accelerate organizational readiness.
- Lead and support complex organizational change initiatives, including restructures, integrations, acquisitions, new client startups and business transformation efforts.
- Guide leaders through ambiguity and organizational challenges while maintaining engagement, performance, and business continuity.
- Leverage workforce analytics, engagement insights, and talent data to inform executive decision-making.
- Partner across HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated talent solutions and ensure consistent execution of enterprise HR strategies.
- Champion a high-performance, inclusive culture aligned with ABM leadership expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and sharing best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience as a strategic HR Business Partner within an HR COE/shared services model.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale commercial real estate, integrated facilities services, property management, hospitality, logistics, or similarly complex operations-based organizations.
- Proven success partnering with geographically dispersed executive and senior operations leadership teams.
- Strong strategic talent management experience, including organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated success leading organizations through significant change, transformation, restructuring, acquisitions, or rapid business growth.
- Outstanding executive coaching, consultation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, project management, and change management capabilities.
- Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and sound business judgment.
