Job Summary:
As the Operations Analyst, you’ll serve as the team’s single point of contact for surfacing insight across cross enterprise project operations and governance;translating logs, metadata, and data quality signals from tools like Alation, Snowflake, and other portals into clear, actionable reporting for our team, our partners, and leadership. You’ll take the lead on auditing and reporting across data tagging, use cases, access, change management, data quality, retention and deletion, and policy compliance, and you’ll keep the project ops and governance portal current as the central hub where that insight lives. This positionensuresour team’s work is visible, accessible, and actionable for stakeholders across the company, serving as both an insights/audit lead and a portal product owner and champion for enterprise transparency.
Log Analysis & Operational Reporting:
Analyze logs and activity across data tagging, use cases, access, and change management to produce recurring reporting and insight. Track and manage use case requests within theportal, andsummarize data quality reporting(in partnership with the data quality manager)with insights published back to the portal for stakeholders.
Data Quality & Discoverability:
Using Alation, deliver metadata insights, track data stewardship, and audit data curation activity (percent curated, gaps in critical areas, ownership awareness).Consolidatedata quality outputs into readable, business-level quality insights for the project, and surface insights from data profiling efforts on new data sources. Develop data lineage insights (where data comes from and its provenance)and publish high-level lineage understanding to the portal so users understand what this project provides them.
Central Portal Ownership:
Lead the developmentrequirements, enhancement, and maintenance of the central operations and data governance portal, ensuring it serves as a one-stop hub for all governance initiatives, resources, and communications.
Portal Content & Navigation:
Partner with governance, program, engineering, and business teams to curate, update, and organize resources such as project dashboards, data quality metrics, catalog documentation, compliance updates, and best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Socialization:
Drive active adoption and usage of the portal across teams through regular outreach, demonstrations, training sessions, and ongoing communications. Gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
Transparency & Reporting:
Develop and publish dashboards, alerts, and status updates through the portal to surface progress, wins, risks, and blockers for leadership and cross-functional partners.
Continuous Improvement:
Solicit feedback, monitor usage analytics, and recommend enhancements to improve portal adoption, clarity, and enterprise impact.
2+ years of experience in data governance, data operations, analytics, or relatedfield, including auditing logs and activity data (e.g., access, change management, use case/data tagging activity) to produce recurring reporting and insight.
Experience creating, publishing, and organizing dashboards, resources, and documentation for broad business audiences, includingdemonstratedresponsibility for building or owning knowledge management or intranet/portal spaces.
Hands-on experience with Alation or similar data cataloging tools, and comfort querying or reviewing Snowflake logs/usage data to derive insight. Familiarity with spreadsheets and project management or documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with privacy and compliance standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR), and experience supporting retention/deletion audits or data governance council reporting.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $82,300 - $106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
