As a Software Engineer - AVP , Senior Agentic UI Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of next-generation AI-powered banking experiences across React Native, React, Android, and iOS platforms while driving the evolution of Agent-to-UI (A2UI) experiences that enable AI agents to dynamically surface, personalise and orchestrate customer interactions. Working on the Agentic UI ecosystem, you will help shape how customers interact with intelligent assistants, personalised journeys, conversational experiences, and AI-driven recommendations within the Barclays mobile and web applications.
You will work at the intersection of Mobile/Web Engineering, Agentic AI, A2UI, Conversational Experiences and Customer Journey Design, building experiences that help customers complete banking tasks through personalised assistance, proactive insights and intelligent interactions.
You will be responsible for building scalable, accessible, and reusable UI capabilities that integrate seamlessly with backend AI services and enterprise platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and close collaboration with Product, Design, AI, and Platform teams to deliver innovative customer experiences.
You will:
- Support platform capabilities across multiple business domains, enabling product teams to deliver consistent and scalable customer experiences.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of frontend platform capabilities, from architecture and design through implementation, adoption and continuous improvement across React Native, React, Android and iOS.
- Act as a bridge between platform engineering and product teams, ensuring alignment on standards, frameworks, technical strategy and delivery requirements.
- Enable engineering productivity through reusable components, shared frameworks, tooling, automation and best practices, accelerating feature development across digital channels.
- Support continuous platform evolution, identifying opportunities to improve developer experience, release processes, observability and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Agentic UI experiences across mobile and web channels.
- Design and implement A2UI capabilities that enable AI agents to dynamically render and adapt customer experiences based on intent, context and journey state.
- Design and implement reusable React, React Native, Android, and iOS components that enable AI-powered customer journeys across APP and Web.
- Support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle from discovery and design through to production deployment and optimisation.
- Partner with Product, UX, Accessibility and Architecture teams to create intuitive and trusted customer experiences.
- Contribute to platform strategy, engineering standards, and innovation initiatives within the Agentic UI space.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, accessibility and governance standards.
