Summary
The Associate Director, US Cell Therapy Sales Operations serves as a strategic and operational leader responsible for supporting the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the US Cell Therapy Sales organization. This individual will lead key initiatives that enable the field team to perform with excellence while supporting organizational priorities across commercial execution, field communications, meeting planning, capability development, and business operations.
This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Commercialization Learning, Market Access, Medical, Cell Therapy Cross Functional Operations and other key stakeholders. The Associate Director will help translate business strategy into actionable operational plans, ensuring field teams are equipped with the tools, processes, insights, and support necessary to drive performance and improve patient access to life-changing cell therapies.
As a key member of the Sales Strategy & Operations team, this leader will identify opportunities to simplify field execution, enhance organizational effectiveness, leverage AI-enabled solutions, and build scalable processes that support the continued evolution and growth of the Cell Therapy business.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Operations & Field Effectiveness
- Lead and coordinate key sales operations initiatives that support the effectiveness, readiness, and execution of the US Cell Therapy Sales organization including meetings, field communications and technology utilization, among other areas.
- Partner with Marketing and Training to develop and implement field strategies aligned to organizational priorities and business objectives.
- Design, manage, and continuously improve processes that enhance field productivity, simplify execution, and enable customer engagement excellence.
- Support sales force deployment and organizational optimization initiatives as needed.
- Develop and maintain operational frameworks, business processes, and governance structures that support consistent execution across the field organization.
- Monitor field adoption of key commercial tools, technologies, and resources while identifying opportunities to improve utilization and effectiveness.
- Field Communications & Engagement
- Develop and manage comprehensive field communication strategies, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and actionable.
- Lead planning and execution of communication cadences that align field teams around strategic priorities, business updates, and organizational initiatives.
- Establish feedback mechanisms that capture field perspectives and inform future planning and decision-making.
- Meetings, Training & Organizational Readiness
- Lead planning and execution of National Sales Meetings, Plan of Action Meetings, First Line Leader Meeting, Regional Meetings, and other field-facing events.
- Partner with Training, Marketing and Sales Leadership to ensure effective integration of training, capability development, and meeting outcomes.
- Support organizational readiness for major business initiatives, product launches, model evolutions, and strategic transformations.
- Ensure field teams are prepared with the tools, resources, and knowledge necessary to execute against evolving business priorities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
- Represent the Sales organization on cross-functional teams and governance forums.
- Build strong partnerships across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Legal, Regulatory, and Corporate Functions to ensure alignment and execution.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to Director of Sales Strategy & Operations, helping translate evolving business needs into scalable operational solutions.
- Influence and drive alignment across stakeholders without direct authority in a highly matrixed environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., or related graduate degree) preferred.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or specialty therapeutics organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales Leadership, Commercial Excellence, Business Planning, or related commercial functions.
- Experience supporting field-based commercial organizations and customer-facing teams.
- Strong track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives in highly matrixed environments.
- Experience with Oncology, Hematology, Cell Therapy, Specialty Therapeutics, or other complex treatment landscapes preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational alignment.
- Experience supporting large-scale sales meetings, field communications, organizational transformations, or launch-related initiatives preferred.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect business strategy to operational execution.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Proven ability to lead through influence and navigate complex matrix organizations.
- High degree of collaboration, accountability, and execution focus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Salesforce/Veeva, Power BI, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and digital solutions to improve business performance and operational effectiveness.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and highly collaborative environment.

Compensation Overview
Field - United States - US $164,990 - $199,933
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
- US Exempt Employees flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
- Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
- Eligibility Disclosure The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
