Kalida Truck Equipment is hiring experienced, dependable technicians to install, diagnose, service, and repair commercial truck equipment.

PAY & SCHEDULE
- Above industry average pay, based on experience and demonstrated ability
- Full-time, year-round position
- Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm
- Overtime availability and working hour exceptions
- $2,500 new-hire retention bonus after completing one full year of employment*

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Install dump bodies, service bodies, flatbeds, snowplows, spreaders, hitches, lighting, controls and other commercial truck equipment
- Install, route, connect and troubleshoot 12-volt/24-volt electrical systems
- Assemble, install and diagnose hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and related components
- Perform mechanical assembly, drilling, measuring, cutting and equipment mounting
- Read installation instructions, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and work orders
- Diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs efficiently
- Perform welding and fabrication when qualified
- Test completed equipment to verify proper operation and safe installation
- Accurately document work performed, parts used and job progress
- Maintain an organized, safe and productive work area
- Work with other technicians, parts personnel and supervisors to complete trucks on schedule
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
- Have at least 1 year of professional mechanical, automotive, diesel, equipment, electrical, hydraulic, welding or related trades experience—or relevant vocational training
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and safe use of hand and power tools
- Be able to accurately measure, drill, fasten and assemble mechanical components
- Be dependable, punctual and able to complete assigned work without constant supervision
- Own their own tools or be willing to invest in a tool set
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Be able to safely lift and handle components weighing up to 50 pounds
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Be willing to complete KTE’s normal pre-employment requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in any of the following is valuable but not required in every category:
- Automotive or diesel repair
- Commercial trucks or heavy equipment
- Hydraulic installation and troubleshooting
- 12-volt/24-volt electrical systems and diagnostic testing
- MIG welding and metal fabrication
- Snow and ice equipment
- Dump bodies, service bodies, flatbeds or truck accessories
- Reading electrical or hydraulic schematics
- Vocational-school, ASE or manufacturer training
