Position Summary
The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading quality engineering teams that ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions supporting Medicare business operations. This role drives quality strategy, test automation, quality governance, release readiness, and continuous improvement across multiple applications and platforms.
The successful candidate will partner closely with software engineering, product, operations, business stakeholders, and leadership teams to establish quality standards, improve testing efficiency, and accelerate delivery through automation and modern quality engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers responsible for functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and non-functional testing activities.
Define and execute quality engineering strategies aligned with business and technology objectives.
Drive adoption of test automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, and shift-left testing practices.
Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting to provide transparency into application health, release readiness, and testing effectiveness.
Collaborate with Software Development, Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Production Support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Oversee test planning, test execution, defect management, and release validation across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and delivery speed.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security, regulatory, audit, and healthcare requirements.
Manage resource planning, talent development, coaching, performance management, and career growth of team members.
Support modernization efforts involving cloud platforms, automation, AI-assisted testing, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Multiple years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Software Development.
Experience leading Quality Engineering teams in Agile delivery environments.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality engineering methodologies, and test management processes.
Experience building and maintaining automated testing solutions.
Experience with API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing priorities across multiple projects and teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare, Medicare, payer, or regulated industry experience.
Experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, ReadyAPI, or similar technologies.
Experience with CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or comparable tools.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and platforms including Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with performance, security, and accessibility testing practices.
Exposure to AI-assisted testing platforms such as Eagle AI, Test Genie, or similar intelligent testing solutions.
Experience with data validation, test data management, and enterprise integration testing.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
