Overview
The Pricing Analyst will act as a centralized resource for intermodal costing and pricing decisions. The purpose of the role is to establish, maintain and analyze pricing and to make recommendations to the Sales and Operations teams that drive volume and revenue growth to the Intermodal business line. This position reports to the Director Intermodal Pricing.
Responsibilities
- Provide all intermodal pricing ranging from spot rate requests to formal
RFPs. - Manage the process from receipt through through submission including;
coordinating with operations and sales throughout the process. - Work with Operations to ensure freight is being routed as quoted and in
the most profitable manner possible through continuous template
management. - Promote Intermodal and educate Sales on the mode by continually
offering new modal alternatives to OTR. - Maintain both railroad and drayage vendor pricing to ensure it’s both
accurate and effective. - Provide regular and ad hoc pricing analysis and reporting for Management
and Sales. - Engage with Operations to understand current market conditions to help
formulate pricing levels. - Work with Billing and AR to resolve missing rates and expirations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Analyze history data and market data to identify opportunities to increase
margins, improve carrier base and reduce cost while growing business.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree Finance or Business preferred.
- 2-5 years’ experience.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills required.
- Proficiency with Excel and the proven ability to manage complex data and
summarize results and knowledge. Knowledge of MS Access a plus. - Problem solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify all cost elements within complex
RFP’s. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail. Ability to work as a team player.
- Innovative; uses creativity and good judgment to develop solutions and
resolve issues.
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $53,024.40 - $70,699.20, based on the national average for the position. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 3%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
