You will work closely with cross-functional teams including quality, engineering, maintenance, HR, and labor relations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations on 1st shift to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
- Provide direct supervision of hourly machinists and other represented employees in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and teamwork.
- Assign work, monitor staffing needs, and ensure resources are aligned to meet production commitments.
- Drive execution of standard work, operating procedures, and production schedules.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support employee development through coaching, training, performance feedback, and day-to-day leadership.
- Build positive working relationships in a unionized manufacturing environment, partnering effectively with employees, union representatives, HR, and labor relations.
- Address production issues, staffing challenges, and quality concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and planning teams to remove barriers and improve performance.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, flow, quality, and waste reduction.
- Monitor daily performance metrics and drive actions to close gaps and improve results.
- Ensure accurate communication across shifts and maintain clear production and operational updates.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing leadership
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or manufacturing leadership
- Ability to work 1st shift and support business needs as required.
Preferred Qualifications & Characteristics
- Prior experience in a frontline manufacturing leadership role.
- Experience with direct supervision of hourly employees.
- Experience in a unionized / represented workforce environment.
- Aerospace, machining, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and daily management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive operational performance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach and develop employees while driving accountability and results.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay range for this position is $100,050 to $140,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 15, 2026.
