- Working knowledge and proficiency with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML)
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Arbortext and UltraEdit or similar tools
- Experience and proficiency as a technical writer
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-PRF-63002 for Modification Work Orders, and MIL-PRF-63033 for Demilitarization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat (Standard/Professional).
- Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions.
- Ability to research and write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures
- Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by consulting with other disciplines engaged in developing products, observing production methods, referring to engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications.
- Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development experience
- Graphics illustration experience and skills using graphics tools such as ISOdraw or similar graphics tools
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong technical background
- Ability to quickly learn new software tools and processes
- Must be able to work well in a team environment and work well with various levels of management
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements
