Job Summary
Incirlik Air Base Water Treatment Plant operator has the responsibility to operate, maintain, inspect, repair and overhauling Water treatment system, Ground water wells, Filtration process, Reverse Osmosis system, Disinfection and Fluoridation processes, base swimming pool and associated equipment and system components. The candidate should be familiar with hazardous chemical work environments including corrosive acids and toxic gases. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment is operating in the most efficient manner possible to ensure that the facility meets safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental targets that exceed KBR and UABOS standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that plant operations follow operating guidelines, and that treated water is safe and acceptable entering the distribution system. Assume responsibility for complete operation and maintenance of treatment plant.
- Monitor, operate, repair, and maintain plant processes and associated equipment system components.
- Conducts daily rounds and inspections for treatment systems, water wells, main pump stations, water storage tanks and swimming pools.
- Monitor and operates the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
- Collects, inspects, tests, and evaluates representative water samples to meet regulations range.
- Maintains chemical feed pumps to adjust proper dosage rate of chemicals.
- Check chemical dosage tank level and refill tank.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment to include calibrations, basic mechanical and electrical work, lubricating and replacing parts.
- Maintains all required records such as daily operating logs, AF forms, daily inspection process forms, chemical and repair parts inventory, compile and analyze data and reports daily.
- Perform routine building and grounds cleaning, cutting grass, hauling cargo, removing trash, escorting contractor, recording data, operating hand and power tools, attend trainings, and additional task as assigned.
- Work as a team player, courteously and respectfully with co-workers in close working environments.
- Will be subject to noise and chemical fumes and work with hazardous chemicals in a liquid, vapor, or solid form.
- Uses good judgement to work safely and use equipment properly.
- Wear all required PPE such as chemical coverall, full face mask, SCBA associated with any required task.
- Work on shift to include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prepared to perform emergency on-call and overtime work on a 24-hour basis.
- Enter confined space areas such as manholes, reservoir, filters, water storage tanks.
- Climb into and out of elevated water storages (40-50 meter high), filters, water storages.
- Arrive at work on time and maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance.
- Have knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
- Understand mechanical, electrical and automation system problems and equipment and troubleshoot and diagnose these instrumentation malfunction, complete component repairs as appropriate.
- Use common hand tools and other related equipment.
- Have excellent electrical and mechanical ability and be able to learn on the job.
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish Citizenship.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in the English language (level 1).
- Have a valid driver license.
- Have completed Military Service Obligation (male candidates only).
- Have the ability to see colors.
- Possess working knowledge of PLC programming (SCADA).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2- or 4-years graduate of technical school in electric, control and automation, industrial automation, mechanical trade or related field.
- Experience working in industrial maintaining systems with water pumps, electric and diesel driven motors, mechanic, motorized and pneumatic valves, chemical dosage system, control panels and automation systems services.
- Experience performing in the maintenance, repair, and operation of a variety of mechanical and electrical pumping and related plant machinery of a municipal water or wastewater treatment plant.
- Preferred PLC programing instrumentation experience or other control systems certification.
