Title:
Interface Management Engineer
KBR is seeking an Interface Management Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The incumbent will develop and maintain multi-segment interface requirement or control documents i.e. program office to Integrated Command & Control (IC2) and from IC2 to Enterprise Ground Systems and Mission Operations Directorates. Member will participate in factory and ground site based activities such as witnessing tests at all levels, providing feedback to the government and team members, act as the government’s eyes and ears at the factory and ground site, attend review boards and participate in working groups. Member will have a working knowledge of the different types of capability testing and the uses of each in segment verification and validation. Will understand the capabilities and verification role of simulators with flight software, ground hardware & software with simulators, and flight software and ground software.
Responsibilities:
Review program office, IC2, and Enterprise Ground & Mission Operations segment changes for multi-segment compatibility test
Support space to ground compatibility tests
Support on-orbit calibration planning, development and execution
Attend segment level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the USG
Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans
Support technical evaluations of contractor proposals
Review complex technical design documentation and provide formal and informal feedback to the COTR, Subject Matter Experts, and other customer personnel
Liaise with mission analysis and acquisition teams to ensure completeness across the acquisition
Develop productive relationships with prime contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft subsystem subject matter experts
Advise and mentor USG Systems Integration Branch personnel regarding space to ground compatibility testing
Other Tasks include: providing status updates; process improvements and recommendations on the best way forward; document reviews (test procedures, design, management, integration, verification, validation and install plans); witnessing and evaluation of tests and installations; performing requirements verification and tracking; issue assessment
Position Qualifications
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or significant mission experience
Basic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated sustained superior performance
Available to travel domestically and internationally
Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly is required to be considered for this position
