Electronics Technician, Navigation & Interior Communication

KBR is adding an Electronics Technician- Navigation & Interior Communication to our team in Wallops Island, VA. By joining our team, you’ll enhance US warfighting capabilities by supporting various NAVSEA and Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) missions and projects performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). This is an SCA position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system-level maintenance on any of the following equipment: The Moriah (Wind Systems), Synchro Switchboard/Amplifiers/Distribution Systems, Dual Navigation Data Unit (DNDU), IOC, Fiber Optic Data Multiplex Technician (FODMS), Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS), AN/SYQ-27 Naval Fire Control System (NFCS), Integrated Voice Communications (STC-2), Integrated Voice Communications (STC-3) & ICOMMS.
- You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment used for the detection, tracking, recognition, and identification of maritime vessels.
- Operate and maintain Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR) systems, Interior Communications (IC) circuits and systems, Inertial Navigation System, Central Atmosphere Monitoring Systems (CAMS), Navigation Processor Unit (NPU), and more.
- Technicians read and interpret schematics and block diagrams and apply general working knowledge of electricity and electronics to repair equipment and interfacing devices. Localize malfunctions, repair or replace faulty parts or subassemblies, and align, adjust, calibrate, and perform corrective maintenance on navigation equipment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School/GED
Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on Navy Communication equipment.
Clearance & Citizenship: Must have or be able to obtain & maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Military service as an Electronics Technician, Submarine, Navigation (ETV), Interior Communication Electrician (IC), Fire Controlman Technician, or similar/related position.
