Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Floor Technician Apprentice to join our team. This position is designed for individuals who are interested in learning the skills required to maintain carpeted and hard surface flooring in commercial facilities while also supporting general cleaning operations as needed.
The Apprentice will receive on-the-job training in floor care techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures with the goal of transitioning into a full-time floor and carpet technician role. While floor care will be the primary focus of this position, the employee may be assigned general cleaning duties based on operational needs.
The ideal candidate is willing to learn, works well independently and as part of a team, and is flexible to support occasional evening and weekend work when required.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
This position may occasionally require work after 5:00 PM and/or on weekends to support floor care projects and customer needs.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour starting rate, depending on experience, with opportunities for advancement up to $24.00 per hour.
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
This position offers the opportunity to earn a one-time $500 retention bonus after 120 days of employment, based on eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities
• Learn and perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance procedures, including stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, extraction, and other floor care services under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Clean and maintain buildings/facilities
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Notify Manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
• Wash and replace blinds
• Gather and empty trash
• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms
Qualifications
Required:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
• Ability to learn floor care techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred:
• Customer service experience
• 1 year of similar work experience
