Job Summary
Perform a variety of fabrication tasks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
Required Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policies.
- Utilize and maintain established inventory systems, such as Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory.
- Demonstrated understanding of all established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Operate basic hand and power tools.
- Clean and test finished weldments.
- Perform continuous quality checks.
- Assist with first run prototypes and/or one off fabrications.
- Operate all equipment that is part of the Fabrication department, including but not limited to tapping/pemming machines, deburring machines, press brakes, saws, ironworkers, hydraulic press, drill press, operate FlexCNC, fiber laser, etc.
- Perform all basic preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
- Assist in training others on procedures and safe usage of equipment.
- Deliver completed parts using an established stocking system.
- Forklift and /or aisle stacker use to transport/relocate product.
- Demonstrated ability to use cranes and lifting devices to safely transport product.
- Communicate and coordinate part shortages with Team Leaders and Production Supervisors.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area utilizing company established 6-S program.
- Contribute proactively to a team oriented, continuous improvement environment.
Education Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Applicable technical training or experience is preferred for advanced assignments.
Experience Requirements:
- Blueprint reading skills are required.
- Must possess the ability to apply basic math skills, specifically with fractions and decimals.
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Quality Responsibilities:
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality systems.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to normal office conditions like telephone, personal computer, reports and files. The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility. The employee will be regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. The employee will use his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 70 pounds. When working on machinery, employee will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work. The employee is required to regularly set up, adjust, assemble, control, test and operate machinery.
