Advanced Power Technologies (APT) defines and delivers Caterpillar’s next generation of power system technologies. We are seeking a Senior BMS Controller Engineer. This person would design, develop, and test electronic control modules for use within generator sets, battery management systems, and inverter/motor control.
Overseeing compliance with functional & environmental requirements, development processes, and regulations for ECM/ECUs for genset, BMS and inverter/motor control.
Development of product requirements, analysis and simulation, electronic component selection, schematic/layout review, and platform verification and validation.
A degree in electrical engineering is required; an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related accredited field is preferred.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Level Extensive Experience:
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Provides recognized technical leadership to an organization that includes vision, innovation, superior technical competence, and the desire to excel.
Electronics Engineering - HTH: Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components, and devices.
Level Extensive Experience: Trains others on designing complex integrated circuits.
Product Design - HTH: Knowledge of and the ability to utilize design tools (e.g., CAD) to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Level Extensive Experience:
Strong technical understanding of analog and/or digital circuitry, including design, simulation, analysis, schematic review, and layout review.
Experience supporting product development processes such as NPI, APQP, CPPD, FMEAs, proactive reliability, and budget management.
Experience with environmental validation, EMC testing, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and collaborate effectively across engineering, software, battery, system, and machine teams.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
