Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary
Performs various machinist duties incident to fabrication, repair, or modification of engineer, motor transport, weapons, and accessories requiring the use of various types of standard and special machine tools and related attachments. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level machinists. Assists higher level machinists. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of machinist apprenticeship (technical certification). Eight years of directly related work experience. Complete the Machinist Course or equivalent. Knowledge of the makeup of blueprints and drawings and the skill necessary to interpret them. Ability to work from specifications, sketches, models of parts to be manufactured or work orders. Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures, shop mathematics, machine-ability of materials, and layout techniques. Thorough knowledge of working properties of common metals. Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License. Ability to comply with all established methods, safety standards, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
