As a Wealth Custom Lending Specialist, you will partner with advisors, private bankers, relationship managers, underwriting partners, and risk teams to deliver customized credit strategies designed to meet the complex financial needs of affluent clients. You will support both business development and portfolio management activities while gaining exposure to sophisticated lending transactions and wealth management relationships.
This role offers a unique opportunity to build expertise in custom lending while helping clients achieve their financial goals through tailored credit solutions.
In this role, you will:- Support the delivery of customized lending solutions for highly affluent, high-net-worth, and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the Wells Fargo platform.
- Partner with senior lending specialists, Wealth Advisors, and Relationship Managers to identify and evaluate credit opportunities.
- Assist in structuring lending solutions and preparing recommendations that align with client objectives and risk standards.
- Participate in client discussions regarding credit needs, lending strategies, and financing alternatives.
- Collaborate with underwriting and Independent Risk Management partners throughout the credit approval process.
- Assist with new custom credit originations and ongoing portfolio management responsibilities, including financial reviews, renewals, covenant tracking, and risk monitoring.
- Analyze financial statements, liquidity profiles, cash flow, and collateral to support credit decisions.
- Develop expertise in wealth lending solutions, including securities-based lending, custom credit, real estate financing, and liquidity strategies.
- Build strong partnerships across Banking, Lending & Trust, Wealth & Investment Management, Risk, and Operations teams.
- Make recommendations regarding matters requiring knowledge of Wealth Custom Lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Help strengthen client relationships by delivering a proactive, consultative, and solutions-oriented experience.
- Stay current on industry trends, lending products, and market developments impacting affluent and wealth clients.
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of Custom Lending experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications- Private Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, or Wealth Management Lending experience.
- Experience working with highly affluent, high-net-worth (HNW), or ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and families.
- Strong credit analysis and credit risk management experience.
- Experience structuring complex lending solutions and negotiating credit terms.
- Excellent relationship management and consultative sales skills.
- Knowledge of traditional banking products, custom lending solutions, and wealth management services.
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations (or FINRA-recognized equivalents) preferred.

- US Only: Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate FINRA license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 7 and 66 examinations or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period, depending upon number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$77,000.00 - $145,000.00
