The Opportunity:
As the System administrator (L2) you will be responsible for supporting IT environments owned by the Commonwealth of Australia under the ITIL Framework. They will contribute their knowledge and experience to cross-functional teams, provide technical support to customer projects when required, and help drive the continuous service improvement of the IT systems.
The System Administrator (L2) is a member of the GS APAC Mission IT and Security Solutions (MITSS) team. Your role will involve investigating, triaging, resolving and escalating complex incidents & Service Requests within the Service Desk to L3 resolver groups. Your expertise will play a crucial part in ensuring our IT infrastructure and related systems remain a state of high availability
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
Provide L2 Technical Support and administration via clients ITSM toolset within the Service health indicator (SHI’S) timeframe
Perform backup checks & remediation of systems
Create and Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S)
Assisting and Managing Identity Management Services
Assist with Building and Rebuilding Desktop & Workstations
Third Party Vendor Engagement
Participate in client projects when required
Any other duties as required
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
Currently hold and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
This role requires on-site attendance in Canberra.
Technical Qualifications (e.g. Engineering, ICT Certifications)
Experience working in a customer-facing Service Desk environment (Level 2 IT Support role).
ITIL Foundations V3 or V4.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server 2016/2019 environments, networking, general software & hardware, and Active Directory.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of VMware vSphere 6.7+
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Veeam Backup Solutions
Basic Knowledge and Experience with Splunk
Proficient in process analysis, problem-solving techniques, and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with and an understanding of remote support tools and ticketing.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
Microsoft Certifications or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Experience with Tenable Nessus
