Job Description Full-time remote: Because this role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work, this position can be conducted 100% remotely. Are you ready to drive the supply chain for a billion-dollar enterprise?
At BAE Systems, we don’t just build technology; we build the future of defense. We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy Distribution Sourcing Analyst to join our Preferred Distribution Supplier team. This isn't a typical "buying" role—this is a strategic position where you will support our preferred distribution suppliers, ensuring that the materials and services powering our most complex programs arrive on time, on spec, and on budget.
If you are a negotiator by nature, a strategist by design, and a communicator by trade, we want you on our team.
The Mission
You will serve as a critical link between our program requirements and our global distribution partners. From managing high-value procurements to navigating complex market conditions, you will ensure that our supply chain is resilient, compliant, and optimized for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Execution: Lead procurement activities for complex programs, managing assigned commodities. You will assist our distribution partners to translate technical specifications and work statements into precise, high-performing purchase orders.
- Portfolio Management: Own the lifecycle of the procurement process—from preparing and reviewing proposals and developing evaluation criteria to selecting suppliers and administering the resulting awards.
- Market Strategy: Analyze forecasted spend, demand trends, and marketplace volatility to develop sourcing strategies that align perfectly with our broader business objectives.
- Expert Negotiation: Act as the lead negotiator for additions, deletions, and modifications to purchase orders. You will resolve complex invoicing issues and ensure we achieve the best value without sacrificing quality or supplier relations.
- Compliance & Analysis: Serve as the subject matter expert for Procurement Compliance and Cost/Price Analysis, ensuring every transaction meets rigorous corporate and regulatory standards.
- Supplier Development: Drive supplier engagement and production ramp-ups. You will not just manage vendors; you will develop partners, focusing on supplier quality, performance, and the adoption of industry best practices.
Why This Role?
This position offers the opportunity to operate at a massive scale. With material spend in the hundreds of millions, your decisions have a direct impact on the success of programs that define the future of defense. You will be empowered to manage high-value procurements and play a pivotal role in the growth and stability of a $6B+ business sector.
