Lockheed Martin is seeking a Staff Operations Researcher to join the Operations Analysis team. In this role, you will support the development and application of modeling, simulation, and analytical approaches that inform mission analysis, and demonstrations. You will help evaluate how command and control capabilities can be represented, assessed, and evolved within realistic warfighting environments.
As a part of our OA team, you will:
Apply operations analysis, modeling, simulation, and software engineering methods to support mission focused assessments.
Lead command and control (C2), battle management, and mission command analysis across tactical and operational scenarios.
Develop, adapt, integrate, and employ simulation tools, data sets, software components, and analytical frameworks to represent warfighter environments and operational problems.
Support software architecture definition, interface development, and technical integration across models, simulations, and mission applications
Support live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) simulation activities.
Analyze simulation outputs and operational results to identify mission insights, performance trends, capability gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with operators, analysts, engineers, and customer stakeholders to shape scenarios, define analytical objectives, and evaluate alternatives.
Translate operational needs into structured analytical approaches, simulation activities, and technically sound recommendations.
Communicate results through clear briefings, visualizations, and written products tailored to technical, operational, and leadership audiences.
Support evolving mission areas where operational concepts and technical approaches are still being defined, helping shape future analysis and simulation applications.
Who You Are:
You are a operations analysis professional with experience at the intersection of command and control, military operations, and modeling and simulation. You understand how analytical methods, simulation environments, and software architectures can be applied to support mission assessment and capability development. You are comfortable working in dynamic environments and can bridge operational context with technical execution.
You bring:
Experience supporting command and control, battle management, mission command, or related military operational environments.
Experience in modeling, simulation, operations analysis, or mission focused analytical support.
Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and software architecture concepts, including modular design, interface definition, system integration, and maintainability.
The ability to translate operational problems into analytical approaches, simulation activities, and actionable insights.
Strong familiarity with military warfighting concepts and the use of simulation to support mission analysis.
The ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and customer teams in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work productively in ambiguous or emerging mission areas where concepts and requirements are still taking shape.
A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality analytical products that support customer and mission success.
