Job Description BAE Systems is a leading global defense, security, and aerospace company. Our Reliability Group is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our critical assets, including large machining and Robotic weld systems. We are seeking an experienced CAM/Post-Processor Expert to join our team, working directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Strategy to optimize and maintain the technical digital tools of the business.
Job Summary:As a CAM/Post-Processor Expert, your role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our large machining systems. This role requires a thorough knowledge of Siemens NX, post-processors, simulation machine kits, Vericut, probing system, and developer knowledge of various machine tool controllers. You will be the subject matter expert in our technology tools, help our teams learn and utilize them, develop SOW’s for procuring them, validate them, and maintain the delicate environments that our teams use to produce world class defense products. Problem-solving skills and communication will be paramount as you work with different engineering teams and outside vendors to drive excellence in machining. Travel will be apart of this role as you will serve all CMS sites, and deploy as needed to support efforts
Key Responsibilities:- Ability to make modifications to post processors as new capabilities come online (Laser pre-setters, probing, custom UDE’s for shuttle tables).
- Ability to troubleshoot and refine new post processors and simulations to meet BAE’s internal needs.
- Ability to build training aids and train BAE engineering teams on how to use BAE’s custom CAM and simulation environments.
- Flexibility to deploy to CMS sites for supporting engineering teams when programing or CAM challenges present themselves.
- Ability to deploy to new machine tool factory acceptance testing to prove out and troubleshoot post processors and simulations.
- Define and standardize post processing and simulations.
- Build master BAE tool library and standardize tooling.
- Maintain NX licenses.
- Prepare NX environment for BAE standardization on next NX revision.
- Ability to think strategically to plan effective changes in the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Experience post processing development and optimization of CNC programs.
- CES (Siemens NX Simulation) experience for machine validation and digital twin workflows.
- Experience in SINMERIK / VNCK simulation (1:1 real machine behavior modeling).
- Teamcenter administration and integration skills.
- CNC probing cycle and in-process inspection strategies and experience.
- A high level of awareness of industrial safety hazards and how to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with manufacturing software partners (Siemens, Renishaw, Vericut).
- Project management experience and skills.
- Experience with large machine tools.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; capable of communicating summarized accomplishments in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
- Good computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Siemens, Fanuc, and Heidenhain controls.
- Experience working with machine controllers parameters and logic systems.
This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486
