Your work as a Sr. SQE will be critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for quality and supplier management to join our Supply Chain team at our BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania.
In this role, your primary focus will be on electrical harnesses, assemblies, and electronics. You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality issues by conducting defect investigations, analyzing trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. Additionally, you will maintain frequent interaction and status reporting with both internal and external customers, supporting multiple projects through to completion for the overall program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier quality investigations, evaluations, and resolutions, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring strict compliance with quality standards.
- Evaluate the impact of nonconforming products and assess the effectiveness of suppliers’ corrective actions.
- Facilitate problem-solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate the recurrence of nonconformances.
- Evaluate First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements and collaborate with suppliers to ensure all BAE Systems' requirements are met.
- Review and approve First Article Test plans and reports.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate submission of quality documentation, enforce purchase order requirements, and drive performance improvements.
- Utilize data-driven insights and collaborative problem-solving to enhance supplier quality and performance.
- Oversee containment and inventory management activities to prevent defects and ensure product reliability.
- Cultivate a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base and champion A3 problem-solving practices.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related field and 4 years of related experience, or the overall equivalent.
- Hands-on experience in Electronics and/or Electrical Assembly manufacturing.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.
- Skilled in mechanical drawing interpretation and GD&T.
- Competency with quality gauges and measuring tools.
- Proven track record in Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 Quality Systems, and AS9102B First Article Requirements.
- Commitment to a “Zero Defect” mentality and practical problem-solving.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and industry-standard software.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in Defense Prime Contract environment.
- Experience with product line validation, test plans, test equipment and product qualification.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-J-620, J-STD-001.
- Specific experience with electrical assemblies for the Defense Industry.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g. Green / Black Belt).
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
