Associate Software Engineer
Why This is an Exciting Role:
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. We are looking for people who like to try new things and aren’t afraid of a challenge!
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Supports software project management and software supplier management functions
- Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics
- Performs software research and trade studies
- Troubleshoots software issues
- Works under general supervision

Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
- Experience in software development using languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB
- Experience working in an agile environment using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification
- Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)
Work Location: El Segundo, California; Huntington Beach, California; Annapolis Junction, Maryland; or Fairfax, Virginia.
Telework Availability: No Telework Availability; 100% on site at one of the locations listed above.
Summary Pay Range:
Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
$90,950 – 123,040
