At Schwab, the Data and Rep Technology (DaRT) organization governs the strategy and implementation of the Enterprise data warehouse, Emerging data platforms and Data Science solutions to use these platforms.
We are looking for an intermediate AIML Engineer with a passion for Next-Gen Cloud, traditional AIML & emerging AI capabilities. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical issues.

What you’re good at
- Collaborative Insight: Utilize intermediate to advanced business, analytical, and technical expertise to engage in discussions with cross-functional teams. Understand and contribute to business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Advanced Problem-Solving: Apply sophisticated analytical techniques to address medium to large-scale business problems, impacting current and future business strategies.
- Site Reliability Engineering: Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and resolve all issues affecting production applications. This involves coordination with and escalation to development and external teams where necessary.
- Innovative Analysis: Employ innovative and quantitative analytical methods to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations that drive meaningful business change.
- Effective Communication: Translate recommendations into well-crafted communication materials for peer review and presentation to mid-to-upper-level management.
- Data Visualization: Use visualization techniques to highlight key points of the analysis, making complex data more accessible for non-technical audiences.
- Data Sourcing and Analysis: Identify and gather high-quality data sources necessary to address business problems comprehensively through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA).
- Data Integration and Hygiene: Integrate and transform disparate data sources, applying appropriate data hygiene techniques to ensure data quality.
- Thorough Documentation: Document assumptions, methodologies, validation, and testing processes thoroughly to facilitate peer reviews and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Technology Adoption: Stay up to date of emerging technologies that can enhance the application of scientific methodologies and quantitative analytical approaches to problem-solving. Expected to support improvements to processes, products, and services.
- Influential Reporting: Deliver findings in a manner that promotes understanding, influences mid-to-upper-level management, garners support for recommendations, drives business decisions, and shapes business strategy.
- Risk Management: Ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have
Required:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience with a focus on AI/ML products in financial domain
- Functional knowledge of financial banking, stock brokerage or insurance domains is preferred.
- Critical-thinking and strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and understand data.
- Ability to interpret key trends and metrics and leverage them for actionable decisions.
- Demonstrates competency in mathematical and statistical techniques and approaches used to drive fact-based decision-making.
- Intermediate and some advanced knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect external insights to business problems.
- Attitude that fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork
- Familiar and comfortable with agile development techniques.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams.
