We are looking for a talented Quality Technician- Level III to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC .

Defect Identification : Comparing physical characteristics of components and products to technical specifications allows you to identify and address defects early in the process.

Measurement Equipment : Your expertise in using and programming measurement equipment ensures precise and reliable product testing.

Customer Assistance : Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data helps build trust and ensures proper product application.

Equipment Maintenance : Ensuring the proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment guarantees consistent and accurate results.

Collaborate with Supplier Quality : Address supplier-related issues effectively by working closely with the Supplier Quality team.

Monitor and Report : Keep track of Material Non-Conformances (MNCs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and issue reports to reduce PPM (Parts Per Million) defects.

Failsafe Effectiveness Checks : Perform checks on assembly lines to ensure failsafe mechanisms are effective.

Defect Containment : Contain defects on completed products both on-site and at customer locations. Education: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining daily communication via email, phone, and virtual meetings.

Document customer complaints accurately and support customers with technical information and replacement part orders.

Act as the Voice of the Customer , effectively communicating customer concerns and feedback to the plant and internal stakeholders.

Coordinate and follow up on customer issues with cross‑functional internal teams to ensure timely resolution.

Support the team in the review, approval, and closure of Material Non Conformances in Quality Management System portals.

Manage the receipt and shipment of parts by issuing RMAs and creating sales orders as required.
-
Complete and maintain customer documentation within customer-specific portals, including 8D submissions.
-
Lead the implementation of short‑term containment and corrective actions for customer portal issues within 24 hours of notification.
-
Create presentation slides for the customer biweekly/ monthly meetings to communicate updates on the customer corrective actions.
-
Interact daily with onsite technicians to retrieve best possible issue description along with supporting them with necessary information about parts, issues, delivery timings, etc.

Developing cordial and healthy relationships with the customer through supportive actions to build trust.
