As a dedicated Quantitative Risk Analyst I in Enterprise Financial Risk Management Stress Testing Team, you will apply knowledge and advanced analytics to assess risks and opportunities, create forecast for stress scenarios, analyze stress test results and create analytical tools to automate risk reporting
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, and Colorado Springs, CO. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Provides risk management support for a line of business or staff agency in key risk identification, measurement and aggregation, and the understanding and management of risk through appropriate quantitative and analytical practices and processes. Conducts and develops quantitative and analytic models, assessments and/or applications in support of risk management efforts that assess the market and identify risks and gaps in existing or proposed processes. Monitors the risk and control environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels and may consult on risk mitigation plans.
The Opportunity
What you'll do:
- Applies advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
- Assesses and mitigates exposures through the identification of key and emerging risks in alignment with the risk strategy and appetite.
- Applies knowledge to produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Produces and communicates analytical content for discussions with cross functional teams, governance committees and business process owners to influence business strategies.
- Build statistical reporting and financial analysis to forecast results for required stress test scenarios, including analyzing and challenging stress testing results and partnering with relevant functions to validate those results.
- May engage in model validations, produce model validation reports, measure and aggregate model risks, and/or report on model issues to committees, auditors, and regulators.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative subject area and 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 4 years related quantitative analysis experience in a subject area relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative subject area.
- OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative subject area and 2 years work experience in a quantitative subject area relevant to risk management.
- OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative subject area.
What sets you apart:
- Solid experience in financial services sector, ideally risk management, in roles requiring problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience in Stress testing CCAR/DFAST is highly desirable, experience in one or more risk stripes strongly preferred
- Knowledge of bank products, insurance products with experience in loss forecast modeling and PPNR modeling preferred
- Experience in scenario design, sensitivity analysis and risk identification process
- Excellent data analytics and quantitative skills with experience in Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and ability to derive patterns, trends and insights
- Excellent writing and presentational skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in simple terms to non-expert audience
- Demonstrated organizational skills to handle multiple deliverables
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $89,990 - $172,000.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
