Job Description
The Director, Card Team Global Process Owner has the responsibility of managing all aspects of the global card program within Visa. The Card Program includes supporting the company’s Corporate Card and Purchasing card program, enforcement of the T&E Policy and Guidelines, oversight on the expense report audit program, and supporting the Card Program integration for acquired entities. The role will oversee the processes globally, with team members situated in multiple regions across the globe. While the Director role is not responsible for key operational tasks, the role will oversee various card related functions to enforce controls, drive efficiency, embed a culture of continuous process improvement, and drive productivity metrics.
This role has extensive interaction with various groups across Finance, including Global Accounting teams, Corporate Travel, and multiple business units. The Director role will be responsible for the overall health and effectiveness of the global Card Program, including enforcing a strong control environment. The role will also drive key initiatives across the global landscape, focusing on streamlining processes, enhanced visibility into T&E spend, and enhancements to key Finance systems.
The role requires the ability to work in a complex and diverse, international, and multi-currency environment. Essential Functions:
- Full oversight into the Global Card Program, focusing on card administration tasks, business line request management, system enhancements, expense report processing, and program expansion
- Manage banking relationships and card program aspects for programs located in multiple geographies across the globe
- Manage external vendor used to outsource expense report audits and oversee internal team responsible for employee follow up and expense resolution
- Partner and coordinate with global peers and finance leaders to constantly enhance and improve our key processes, systems, and tools, focusing on key projects such as card distribution models, employee expense reimbursements, and expanded reporting capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of key systems including Concur and Oracle, and other tools used in the T&E process
- In depth knowledge of T&E Policy and Guidelines, with the ability to identify questionable spend and address directly with employees, managers, or Business Conduct office
- Provide support for on-going mergers and acquisitions, evaluating acquired entities T&E Policies and aligning with Visa’s practices, integrating the acquired entities onto Visa’s card programs, and provide training on Visa’s practices
- Preparation and analysis of global operating metrics, utilizing data to create process efficiencies, identify bottlenecks, and initiate process improvements
- Focus on business line or supplier escalations, identifying root cause and implementing solutions
- Act as primary liaison for internal audit and SOX testing and validation
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement in a methodical, pragmatic and expeditious manner including: automation of manual processes and controls and standardization of accounting/business processes. Use Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve Controllership activities
- Drive team performance to Best in Class standards by improving employee commitment and identifying single point of accountability
- Develop effective succession planning, strategic resources, and focus on employee career growth
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Experience managing Card Program activities
- Experience of managing a finance team in a commercial multi-national environment
- Experience governing complex payables issues including for foreign currency transactions
- Ability to develop and leverage deep professional relationships with key leadership, in Finance and the business, across a wide international geography
- Sound experience with managing internal and external audits
- Ability to work well under pressure, across different functional groups and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to think strategically and support business objectives while effectively balancing risk/reward trade-offs
- Knowledge of Microsoft office applications, Oracle Financials, and SAP product suite of Ariba and Concur
- Knowledge of the payment industry
- Self-directed and motivated
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage issues to resolution
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and tools
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to instigate and support change.
- Able to communicate and build cross-functional relationships, work with all levels of personnel and interact with senior and executive management

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 146,700.00 to 212,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
