Compensation
$68,400 - $122,000
- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you’ll do
While being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will perform development and configuration activities in support of securing our business applications. Managing the successful delivery of projects will require you to plan, coordinate and lead activities following the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Working closely with fellow Developers and Software Architects, you will encourage continuous learning and improvement, and will ensure deployment of solutions that meet software development best practices, standards, and guidelines. Your solid technical skills and positive influence will ensure you can lead and assist other developers with system design from an app security prospective, secure coding practices, and securing APIs. Additionally, you will setup and secure APIs in Azure API Management supporting development teams with their API needs.
What you need
Entry level positions require the following:
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 credit hours in Computer Science including successful completion of at least one intermediate or advanced programming language course is required.
Intermediate or advanced level positions require the following:
- Minimum of two years of experience in application development, with a thorough knowledge of at least one programming language, is required.
Bonus if you have
- Familiarity with proven experience in the delivery of high-quality solutions utilizing Java framework and/or Microsoft .Net framework (C#).
- Experience with Web Services (RESTful, JSON).
- Familiarity with Azure App Services, Azure Key Vault and/or Azure APIM
- Familiarity with building Web Apps.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Identity concepts like:
- Role based access control
- OIDC and OAUTH2
- SAML assertions
- LDAP and Active Directory
- Setting up external services using inline hooks and event hooks
