Overview:
Nightwing, a $1.8 billion intelligence services company recently divested from RTX, is seeking a Director to lead our Accounting Service Center. This role will initially focus on supporting human resource, payroll, ERP, and travel & expense system implementations and onboarding staff. Once these systems and related personnel are in place, the role will transition to managing the Accounting Service Center, overseeing payroll, time management, and travel & expense operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation: Actively participate in the setup of payroll, ERP, and travel & expense systems.
Management: Oversee payroll, time management, and travel & expense operations, including policy development and enforcement, compliance monitoring, system management, and related financial reporting.
Controls: Develop and enforce controls for payroll processing, including deductions, taxes, and compliance with IRS requirements.
Improvements: Recommend and lead process enhancements within the Accounting Service Center.
Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to resolve issues and improve processes.
Reporting: Manage financial operations, including accounting related activities. Brief management of operational effectiveness.
Ability to analyze data, develop enterprise-wide strategies, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
Other Duties: Support internal and external audits; conduct education and outreach efforts across employee population.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 12 years in accounting, finance and / or payroll activities. Experience in system transitions or deployments. Experience with ADP, Costpoint, and Concur systems, as well as government contracting industry experience is a plus.
Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to lead and mentor, and knowledge of payroll laws and corporate travel practices.
Educational Experience:
Must have 12+ years of applicable work experience and a Bachelor's degree (in a related field), or 20+ years of applicable work experience at the minimum in lieu of a Bachelor's degree can be substituted.
Highly Desired: Payroll certification.

The salary range for this role is 188,000 USD - 378,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
