Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer Technician to support full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels/vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft/vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels/vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division’s Combatant Craft Division

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Electrical Engineer Technician III performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Successful candidates will demonstrate
- Seven (7) years of full-time professional experience as an Electrical Engineer Technician or Electronics Engineer Technician with specific experience in the following
- Electrical and electronic equipment and systems, including one or more of the following: power generation, conversion, and distribution systems; illumination systems; interior and exterior communications systems; navigation systems; control systems; networks; or other electrical and electronic systems.
- High school Diploma, related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- Current Secret Clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Advanced training in shipboard electronics systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under project deadlines.
- Experience supporting test and evaluation of maritime electrical and electronic systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include technical support in one or more of the following in support of watercraft engineering and marine services:
- Electrical and electronic equipment and systems, including one or more of the following: power generation, conversion, and distribution systems; illumination systems; interior and exterior communications systems; navigation systems; control systems; networks; or other electrical and electronic systems.
