Position Overview
As a Superintendent you will play a significant part in the success for Kiewit. You will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman, and crews. You with be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specification, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish the execution of the work, either directly or through General Foreman or Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architect/engineer, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

District Overview
The Underground District has been constructing underground facilities for over 70 years and is recognized as a leader in the tunneling industry. We have completed more than 100 underground-related projects totaling more than several billion dollars. Our work includes projects related to transportation, water/wastewater, environmental facilities, power, mining, and telecommunications. We incorporate state-of the art technology with proven construction methods to ensure excellence and ongoing success. Please keep in mind that we are an Underground Construction business, so chances are that the majority of your day will be spent working Underground. Services include TBM Rock, TBM Soft Ground, Sequential Excavation, Drill and Blast, Shaft Excavation, Concrete, Tunnel Rehab, and Numerous Trenchless Methods.

In this role, our expectation is to be based on our ongoing Shaft & Tunnel project in Lead, SD. With relocation available for qualified candidates, not only to this project, but future projects upon completion.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performance of assigned craft labor, including productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Performs Job Safety Analysis before all work in area of responsibility.
- Provides liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications.
- Coordinates work and interfaces effectively with other craft superintendents and subcontractors, as well as staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
- Assists in planning work schedule, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
- Ensures that procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies.
- Ensures craft time cards are completed to accurately reflect hours worked and cards are submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
- Ensures effective coordination of sub-contractor work undertaken under the electrical scope.
- Advises senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and other potential issues.
- Assists in circumventing/resolving and preventing reoccurrence of such problems.
Qualifications
- Two Year technical degree in construction or an electrical discipline or equivalent combination of experience and technical training.
- Skilled Electrician with at least 7+ years of experience managing electrical crews and running multi-million dollar construction projects.
- Experience managing & coordinating sub-contracts on large underground projects.
- Preferred experience Programing or troubleshooting Siemens or Allen-Bradley software.
- Preferred active Journeyman or Master Electricians License
- Proficient knowledge of the National Electric Code, Medium Voltage Systems and Control Systems.
- Advanced knowledge in NFPA 70E and be able to read and understand electrical construction and controls drawings.
- Must be able to work underground.
