Title: Lead Quality Assurance Tester
Job Location: Washington, DC or anywhere (Continental US) - REMOTE
Duration: Long Term Contract
Position Summary
We have re-architected and rebuilt our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business. Our new software platform is a set of cloud-native, federated systems that are highly scalable, accurate, and modular, leveraging both custom-built and 3rd party components. We are seeking a quality assurance tester to write and execute test cases for our scrum teams. This includes manual and automated testing. An ideal candidate is an experienced tester with a strong attention to detail and a passion for improving software. In this role, you will be working with our scrum teams and other testers to ensure Client delivers high quality software products to our users.
Essential Functions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and develop comprehensive test strategy
· Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, ensuring proper functionality, data validation, and error handling.
· Create and maintain a library of SQL scripts for data validation
· Build a repository of manual test cases that promotes transparency and re-use of test cases.
· Develop and execute data quality test plans, test cases, and test scripts
· Create and own the overall test strategy and coordination
· Develop test artifacts for integration, functional, end to end, acceptance, performance, smoke, and regression testing.
· Maintain an understanding of how the system currently functions and be able to communicate that behavior to technical and non-technical audiences.
· Execute test cases and report test results to the scrum teams and department leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, operations staff, and subject matter experts.
- Must have work experience in various manual testing areas Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke testing, Sanity testing and End to End testing
- Proficiency in SQL
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience with Agile software development process.
- Experience with a scripting language and/or test automation framework (ideally Selenium) preferred.
- Experience with common testing tools such as Qmetry, TestRails, Zephyr, HP ALM, etc.
- Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
- A basic knowledge of Restful APIs are preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· 5 years of QA testing experience while working on more than one application.
· Experience in the music royalty processing and/or fintech industry is a huge plus.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
