Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Mid-Level Tactical Integration Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 46 TS / TGBC.
Our tactical integration test team is searching for new test engineer professionals that can help us design and execute test events. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide several opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.
We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that have a system engineering foundation and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support.
This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB as a member of a Tactical Integration Element (TIE) responsible for planning, designing, and executing test events for tactical integration programs.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL
JOB STATUS: Full Time
TRAVEL: 30% CONUS / OCONUS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Technical Bachelor’s Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Active Secret clearance is required and must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship.
- Good understanding of basic networking concepts.
- Technical experience with DoD digital/tactical information distribution data links; preferably with Link 16, JREAP, TTNT, UCI, and VMF.
- Technical experience in the areas related to data link radios, radio frequency waves/propagation, and ad hoc computer networks.
- Experience and knowledge of serial, Internet Protocol (IP), Line of Sight (LOS), and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) tactical datalinks.
- Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.
- Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 30% of the time.
- Strong work ethic; Comfortable working in and leading a team with minimal supervision.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience with GPS systems.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
- Understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of test methodologies including AFI 99-103, Capabilities based Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E).
- Knowledge of system analysis and application software development concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate emerging technologies in a DT&E environment.
- Knowledge of networking, Security+, CompTIA certifications, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform as a member of the 46 TS TIE Test Team.
- Interface directly with system Program Management Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs, product development contractors, and Field Service Representatives.
- Plan, execute, and report on and associated datalink systems that employ Link 16, Joint Range Extension Application Protocols (JREAPs), Situation Awareness Data Link (SADL), Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Multifunction Advanced Data Link (MADL), Variable Message Format (VMF), Cursor on Target (CoT), extensible markup language (XML), Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET), Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI), and various other US, Joint, and Coalition capabilities.
- Proficient/familiar with various radios to include Small Tactical Terminals (STT), Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Joint Tactical Radio System Terminal (MIDS-JTRS), PRC-161, PRC-117G, PRC-152A, PRC-163, PRC-167, PRC-160, Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT), Remotely Operated Vehicle for Emplacement & Reconnaissance (ROVER), etc.
- Proficient/familiar with various network, compute, and/or routing/switch devices to include Cisco, Juniper, etc.
- Proficient/familiar with Starlink/Starshield,
- Proficient/familiar with various High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryption (HAIPE) encryption devices.
- Preform technical leadership in engineering roles, review customer requirements and participate in test planning.
- Develop in depth understanding of applicable Military Standards such as MIL-STDs 3011, 6016, 6020, etc.
- Develop and manage test plans and procedures, schedules, execute a test within the constraints of customer requirements, and produce timely test reports.
- Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing system testing.
- Author technical documents, conduct briefings and formal presentations.
- Travel to locations, as required, to conduct tests, collect, and reduce data.
