Job Summary
Perform all types of bridge and building construction and maintenance-related work including, but not limited to, timber framing, drywall installation, concrete placement, steel repair, and masonry repair. May also be called upon to perform any number of miscellaneous tasks such as snow shoveling, light bulb replacement, minor plumbing repairs, painting and other duties as assigned. Will respond to emergency situations as required and may work with other trades as necessary.
Employees must be able to meet and comply with the manufacturer's weight limitation safety rating and recommendations for any equipment associated with performing their duties, including the 300 lb. safety rating for ladders (both portable and affixed) and fall arrest equipment.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Perform tasks associated with bridge and building construction, maintenance, upkeep, and repair
- Load and unload materials and tools
- Measure and cut material to fit
- Set up hoisting equipment for moving tools and material
- Participate in safety initiatives, job briefings, and routine administrative actions
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety and operations, as well as all applicable government regulations
Pay Rate
$38.70/hr.
Training
You will attend training in Atlanta, GA. CSX will pay for travel, lodging and meals as required by collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Three or more years’ experience in bridge and/or building maintenance or construction such as carpentry, masonry, iron work, plumbing, laborer, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in bridge and/or building maintenance
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with Airbrake Endorsement*
* If you are unable to obtain a CDL license or at the least make significant progress in obtaining a CDL license within your sixty (60) day probationary period, CSX has the right to revoke your employment by rejecting your application. In the event you fail to obtain a CDL license or make significant progress in obtaining it and your application is not rejected, your ability to bid on open positions/vacancies will be limited, meaning you will face an increased likelihood of being furloughed.

- Must be able to report to work safely with two-hour notice
- Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
- Complete annual training and pass safety rules examinations
- Must successfully pass probationary period
