Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Security Assistant to provide security management support to the Over the Horizon Radar (OTHR) program, which is located at Hanscom AFB, MA.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA
JOB STATUS: Full Time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Possess demonstrated knowledge of DoD security procedures, including classified transmission, protection of incoming mail, courier requirements, security incident reporting, and security violation sanctions.
- Command a full understanding and maintain current on all Operations Security (OPSEC) practices.
- Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship required for all applicants
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD
- OR, seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, five of which must be in the DoD.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommending, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials.
- Recommending and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.
- Providing the following security support for controlled facilities – access, security checks and documentation, inspection preparation and support, escort responsibilities, establishment and enforcement of personnel security procedures and best practices, and other relevant security support for all levels of classification.
- Issue notices and continuous reminders to Program Office personnel regarding OPSEC practices
