Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Marine Structural Engineer. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, waterfront and coastal disciplines. KIE is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location
This role can be based out of Kiewit’s Woodcliff Lake, NJ / Manhattan, NY offices.
Responsibilities
• Perform design of structural components for Marine and Waterfront structures including wharfs, piers, marine terminals, floodwalls and seawalls.
• Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Adhere to schedules and work assignments to ensure successful project completion.
• Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
• Work effectively with the CAD team to produce design and construction drawings.
• Research new methods and adapt current processes and work-flows as necessary to successfully execute project deliverables.
• Coordinate with other designers, engineers and team members assigned to a project or task, and support work progress and results.
• Support department managers in achieving performance goals for the department.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all project team members and stakeholders (internal and external to Kiewit).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in structural engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Active PE required
• 7+ years’ related design experience in relevant projects
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability and willingness to support other activities that have similar functions.
• Perform structural analysis and preparation of engineering calculations. Knowledgeable in popular engineering analysis software such as SAP 2000, SAFE, LPILE and Mathcad
• Functional in utilizing spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations.
• Ability and willingness to support other civil activities (onshore structures) as needed.

Base Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
