Position: Plant Engineer - Augusta GA
Description: The Plant Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the mechanical and electrical equipment at the Augusta, Georgia chemical manufacturing facility. The position is a part of a team that produces high quality chemicals and prides itself in its excellent safety record. The Plant Engineer plays a key role in process design, capital project scoping and execution, process safety, supporting facility improvements, and preventative maintenance at the facility. The Plant Engineer is responsible for directing the capital projects and repairs and maintenance activities of the facility in a safe and cost-effective manner.
EHSS RESPONSIBILITIES
· Uphold the standards of the ACC Responsible Care Management System
· Ensure all EHSS policies, guidelines and standards are practiced and enforced
· OSHA Process Safety Management program 29 CFR 1910.119
· Ensure projects and R&M activities comply with the facility operating and environmental permits
· All other applicable regulatory requirements as they apply
· Incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence
· Complete and conduct applicable training as needed
· Audit participation and completion of corrective actions
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIIES
· Facilitate improvements of existing operations. Improvements will have input from multiple disciplines: operators, engineering, maintenance contractors, and management as needed.
· Compile FEL1, FEL2, FEL3 documents using PVS project management system for capital projects.
· Understand how plant operates (hands on method) and understand the different capabilities of the plant.
· Stay up to date on new equipment designs, new products and processes and help implement to continue to improve plant efficiencies.
· Continuously look for opportunities to improve plant operations for safety, cost reduction, and energy efficiencies.
· Safety, Quality, and Productivity of Maintenance and Contractor Activities
· Computerized Maintenance Management System (Fluke E-Maint)
· Ensure Completion of Preventive Maintenance Work Orders
· Mechanical Integrity Program
· Root Cause Failure Analysis
· Participate in Hazop analysis and reviews.
· Conduct Management of Change as needed.
· Project Management and Shutdown Planning, Scheduling
· Assist in the development of an estimated timeline and cost required to accomplish a project.
· Assist plant in SOP development, review, training, and implementation.
· Assist in new permits and permit modifications.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Excellent safety standards
· Chemical manufacturing facility experience
· Project engineering and project management experience
· Strong willingness to learn and desire to be hands on and in a plant setting
· Experience and ability to troubleshoot process, equipment, electrical, and instrumentation issues
· Strong knowledge and experience with CMMS, PM Optimization
· Strong background with Maintenance Management Best Practices
· Able to work effectively with competing priorities
· Verbal and written communication skills with multiple levels in the organization and external suppliers
· Strong decision-making skills
· Strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills
· Self-starter able to work alone and in groups
· Able to work as a team player and as a leader to promote a safe and reliable culture in the plant
· Proficient with MS Office applications: especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· 7 plus years’ experience in the Chemical process industry
· Experience managing capital projects or repair & maintenance projects
· Experience installing and troubleshooting process equipment, instrumentation, testing, and commissioning
· Experience in preventative maintenance and with a CMMS program a plus
· Experience working in a PSM and RMP facility a plus
· Experience in applying industry RAGAGEPs – Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (Chlorine Institute, API, NACE, ISA, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, etc.)
Location / Reporting Relationship
The position is based in Augusta, Georgia and reports to the PVS Technologies – Augusta Plant Manager.
