Overview:
- Performs complex customer support activities on gas compression and rotating equipment inside customer plants and in the field under general supervision. Acts as a subject matter expert for equipment in assigned area. Mentors and trains other technicians on technical aspects and soft skills
Requirements:
- Demonstrates expert diagnostic, highly efficient troubleshooting, investigation, maintenance and repair skills on multiple OEM compression/rotating equipment and drivers
- Coordinates, prioritizes and resolves issues encountered by service technicians in the plant & field
- Responsible for leading a team performing Daily Maintenance (DM), Major Maintenance (MM), Overhaul & Preventive Maintenance (PM) to established standards with no assistance
- Responsible for coordinating and communicating the coverage, call handling, response time and protocols of service technicians
- Through team management, aims to minimize downtime and maximize the first time fix rate of equipment
- Responsible for providing technical support to customers and sales team in a given discipline(s) including: systems installations, repairs, preventative maintenance and pro-active follow-up on an intermittent basis
- Communicates all technical issues to customer and field service manager in a timely fashion
- Records all findings and measurements on appropriate documentation that are electronically filed and submitted to customer
- Demonstrates proficiency in order to perform quality, efficient work with minimal call backs
- Model established health, safety and environmental procedures
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and effectively communicates to customer and Field Service Manager
- Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, drawings, etc.)
- Proficient computer skills, including Internet Explorer, Outlook and MS Office
- Completes and submits company required documentation including detailed reports in an accurate and timely fashion on a regular basis
Knowledge:
- In Depth knowledge of gas compression/rotating/drivers operational systems
- Knowledge of mechanical failure analysis and investigation
- Fully understands customers facilities / equipment and performance
- Fully understands all processes and systems used in the region and performance regardless of types, makes or models
- Knowledge of company & customer maintenance standards checklist and ability to accurately and completely follow as well as suggest modifications as required
- Basics of Continuous Improvement concepts
- Knowledge of or training in relevant HSE procedures and regulations
Minimum Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Gas or diesel engine and compressor basics training certification (Ariel, DR, GE Cameron, Cook Compression Basics 101, etc.) required
- Relevant trade certification preferred
Minimum Experience:
- 8+ years of demonstrated high speed, low speed gas compression and/or rotating (pumps, turbines, screw compressors, etc.) equipment experience
- Demonstrated history of successful and safe service experience
