· Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required. A master’s degree or PhD in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
· 15+ years of progressively responsible structural engineering experience, preferably including hydropower, dams, hydraulic structures, heavy civil construction, and design-build project delivery.
· Hydraulic structures-focused experience including stability analyses; structural design of new hydraulic structures (concrete dams, hydropower stations, spillways, sluiceways, weirs, locks, levees, and related facilities); design of stability improvements to existing structures; condition assessment; structural design of repairs and refurbishments; and dam safety assessments.
· Experience working directly with contractors and construction teams through Early Contractor Involvement, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, or similar delivery models is preferred.
· Professional Engineer or equivalent registration in the applicable jurisdiction required or obtainable. An NCEES record is preferred for U.S.-based positions.
· Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
· Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, sound judgment, and ability to prioritize work while continuously improving quality, cost, safety, and efficiency and actively seeking feedback to improve processes.
· Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, Mathcad, or equivalent tools.
· Experience working in a team setting and directing, reviewing, or mentoring the work of engineers and designers.
· Ability to travel to project sites and offices, generally less than 25 percent, and safely access construction sites in varying climates and environmental conditions.
