What you will do:
- Ensure that established safety standards are adhered to and are part of the organization’s culture.
- Partner with other areas of the business to manage risks and reduce loss.
- Monitor health and safety related performance and work with management to deliver desired results.
- Ensure that our safety program is compliant with regulations.
- Ensure training needs for both new hires and existing associates are up-to-date.
- Train new associates on the safe and proper operation of powered industrial trucks, forklift safety, fall protection, etc.
- Working alongside Safety Manager to assist with managing Worker Compensation claims. Take the lead on claims in their assigned territory.
- Lead investigations of all incidents and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective action and preventative measures.
- Conduct safety inspections of their territory utilizing the Quarterly Safety Checklist report.
- Assist with Safety communication.
- SDS Library Management.
What you will bring:
- Experience as a Safety Specialist preferred, but not required.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and present solutions.
- Ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English.
- Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
- The ability to operate computers and relevant computer software.
- Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent travel, sitting in a vehicle to sites within your territory.
- Frequent exposure to seasonal temperatures and fluctuations of inside/outside building temperatures.
- Requires close vision with computer and paperwork, distant and peripheral vision for driving and product selection, and depth perception for safety in warehouse and building.
- Requires the ability to clearly hear in-person and phone conversations.
- Primarily light industrial and office work areas. Exposure to safety-sensitive areas. Moderate to high noise level.
Salary Range: $55k - 70k
Location: Based in Cranbury, NJ but frequently in South Jersey and Philadelphia locations.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
