The Opportunity: This opportunity is supporting the APi Group organization as it establishes and implements its future strategy over the next few years through business and technology transformation. The program will include putting the processes, people, and technology in place required to support a new operating model. The intent is to strategically transition onto new technology platforms to optimize and expedite value capture and minimize disruption to the business. Technology platforms include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Field Service Management (FSM), payroll, timekeeping, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Procurement: Source to Contract and Procure to Pay, among others. The intent is to transition operating companies and branches onto platforms in a strategic manner that optimizes and expedites value capture as well as minimizes disruption to the business. The scope of the program includes both business transformation and technology across the company in several phases.
We are currently seeking a Program Financial Controller who will specifically provide support for the program as well as key stakeholders across the organization, including being responsible for working with project managers to ensure a project stays within budget and financially healthy by analyzing and tracking all costs, revenue, risks, and opportunities. This position will work closely with the program leaders (s) to engage stakeholders across operating companies, corporate functions, and vendor partners to successfully deliver project objectives and outcomes..
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To include, but not limited to the following:
- Overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the program and respective workstreams.
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, both recognized and forecasted.
- Coordinate and direct budget and forecast preparation and maintenance throughout the program, maintaining the ability to report on budget variances and trends.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements as required by various levels of the program.
- Provide detailed business financial analysis and KPI reporting on both an as needed and regular basis.
- Ensure all costs incurred are properly coded as either expense or capitalized in accordance with US GAAP.
- Establish and maintain internal control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, partnering with cross functional teams.
- Advise workstream leaders, program leaders, and other stakeholders on budgetary rules as well as best practices for costing and allocations
- Partner with leaders and businesses to develop both high-level and detailed business cases for the program, capturing quantitative and qualitative elements.
- Evaluate key assumptions within or related to program business cases to effectively flag potential risks and opportunities.
- Develop and evolve processes and tools for identifying and tracking value.
- Track actual value achieved against forecasts and report to leadership, including identification of risks and potential mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with key Leadership within the business, corporate workstreams and project managers to ensure that results are tracked accurately and are properly evaluated.
- Assess financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Coach and mentor team members as appropriate
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Engineering with a focus on quantitative skills
- Strong financial modelling and data analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Strong understanding of APi Group companies and relevant industry experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead through influence
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, specifically with accounting for internal-use software implementations and cloud computing arrangements.
- Ability to partner with others and/or take initiative in ambiguous situations.
- Experience and ability to work directly with senior leadership teams.
- Demonstrated ability to define, analyze, research, and communicate risks.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong character, ethics, commitment, and reliability
- Experience working in a hybrid delivery model that spans time zones.
Benefits and Compensation:
The pay range is $86,100 - $129,100, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family. Some benefits include:
