Job Summary
Assists the facilities team with maintaining and improving 9 CSX critical and non-critical facilities.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Assist facilities engineers and contractors in supporting power and chiller plant operations, physical security, maintenance/repairs, contingencies and disaster recovery.
- Maintain a focus and awareness of changing technology and compliance requirements. Identify new methods and products to improve internal processes and efficiencies
- Maintain functionality and appearance of the facilities indoor and outdoor. Facilitate life safety and facilities operation training sessions.
- Fabricate and install electrical circuits. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Perform maintenance and problem resolution on heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) power, and security systems. Support multiple power systems and installs for co-location customers.
- Support the Building Automation System (B.A.S.) hardware and software.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure facility availability and sustainability. Remediate issues during disaster recovery preparedness, power failures, hurricanes, or inclement weather conditions.
- Support a 24/7 operating team with a rotating on-call schedule.Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- Less than 1 year of experience in basic Electrical/Electronics or HVAC
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 or more years of experience in basic Electrical/Electronics or HVAC
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- 1 or more years of experience in Electrical/Electronics or HVAC Certifications/Licenses: Electrical Journeyman
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of 24/7 facility operations and its effect on the main business function
- Knowledge of security systems including closed-caption television (CCTV), card access, intrusion detection, and building automation systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership, including vendors, business partners, and customers
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems

Job Requirements
- Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (including working weekends)
- Hours which include rotating on-call responsibilities which may be outside standard hours
- Wear protective equipment (such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection)
- Federal regulations require random testing for drugs and/or alcohol
- Work extended assignments at field locations in support of CSXT operations.
