The Customer Insights Senior Manager for Local and Base Marketing role will support multiple teams within the Verizon Consumer Group focused on marketing strategy, acquisition, and retention. This role will support our local regions throughout the US, translating and adapting our general market insights by geography, as well as executing custom research to answer business questions and test possible solutions. This role will also support the base marketing team in driving loyalty among our existing customers and will own our automated disconnect survey platform to derive insights on customer churn to inform retention strategy.
You will be responsible for uncovering insights about how to improve and transform Verizon’s customer experience, communications, and business decisions. The work you do will inspire us to bring the best solutions to consumers- because of your enhanced understanding of their needs. You’ll design studies, gather primary and secondary research, manage our vendor partners, and ensure that we get the best market insights to drive our decision-making. By helping us understand and anticipate customer needs, you’ll be shaping what’s next for us.
The ideal candidate is an expert in insights and research. Digging into lots of data fascinates you and you know its real value is in the insights it provides. You have a consulting approach to understand research needs and design the right research solution. People trust and value your opinion. You’re able to translate data into narratives and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience's function and level to meet their needs. But you’re not just about the numbers - you have a business mindset that makes your recommendations sound and practical.
Responsibilities include:
Being a trusted consultant for internal stakeholders to guide their decision-making and deliver insights pertinent to their areas of responsibility.
Partnering with leaders to understand key business issues.
Partnering with marketing and product teams on strategic marketing planning including identifying promotional opportunities and new ways of communicating with customers.
Being the champion of the customer and providing insight on "why" people do the things they do when interacting with Verizon and how to reconcile differences between customers’ perceptions of the brand and how Verizon wants to be perceived.
Designing and shaping research designs to yield actionable insights including Quantitative Research, Qualitative Research, Concept Testing, Conjoint, Max Diff, Choice Models, Segmentation, Tracking, Forecasting, Advanced Analytics.
Managing research agency partners and research projects from scoping to delivery.
Synthesizing information from various sources into meaningful insights.
Presenting actionable recommendations to leaders and influencing decisions across cross-functional teams.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Consumer or B2B market research experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree.
Experience in localized or regional marketing or market research.
Experience in creating and managing databases and dashboards.
An advanced degree in Market Research, Social Sciences (eg. Psychology, Sociology, etc.), Business (eg. economics, MBA, etc.), or a certification in Market Research (UGA, etc.).
Experience at or working alongside a market research agency or related vendor.
Designed small and large-scale research projects involving primary and secondary data collection. Ideally, consumer and business research.
Analyzed data from multiple sources, and provided insights and recommendations tailored to different functions and levels.
Managed agency vendor relationships including scoping, budgeting, quality, and timeliness.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $125,000.00 and $232,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
