As a Staff Accountant in Chase Travel (CTJ), you will support the business by completing monthly journal entries and the timely analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing client and vendor contracts and implementing invoicing and payment procedures that fully represent the terms of the contracts. Your additional responsibilities include purchasing card reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned.
Job responsibilities:
- Review client and vendor contract terms and guidelines.
- Pursue collection efforts as required to ensure client payment within contractual timeframes.
- Record client invoices and payments based on each client’s specific contract terms.
- Prepare and complete journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting in a timely manner. These include revenue accruals, related product cost accruals, cash receipts, accrued and accounts receivable, and accrued vendor payables.
- Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts by identifying trends and projecting client growth/decreases during the upcoming periods for both revenue and product costs.
- Reconcile high volume purchasing card activity to ensure accuracy.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 1 year of experience in Accounting.
- Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent analytical skills – including the ability to present results.
- A demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results.
- Innovation and creativity – a problem solver with excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on completion of the highest priority items in the shortest timeframe possible.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Strong leadership skills – combined with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred.

Candidates must be able to physically work in our Glen Allen, VA office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined and communicated by direct management.
