Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Non-Destructive Test Tech to join our NDT team in Ridley Park PA.
This position will serve as the subject matter expert for NDT processes within the Total Quality team with duties including providing certification testing, approving new and revised production techniques and conducting audits of NDT processes. In addition, this position will act as mentor and provide team leadership to Level II NDT technicians and support leadership and business need including intermittent travel to additional Boeing locations, supplier sites and industry events as needed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Advises on advanced technology in non-destructive instrumentation and inspection principles, processes and techniques.
- Guides implementation of advanced inspection or test techniques.
- Develops innovative test processes and equipment.
- Consults suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues involving tests, processes and equipment.
- Develops principles and methods for analyzing test, inspection or statistical data.
- Consults on corrective action to resolve process or product anomalies.
- Participates on enterprise and industry teams to influence the standardization and regulation of training and certification requirements.
Guides the development or improvement of non-destructive inspection or test techniques.
Develops, deploys and implements tests or inspections and data collection techniques utilizing evolving technology.
Develops program specific non-destructive testing documents.
Develops and implements processes and procedures for new or revised non-destructive testing methods.
Audits, validates and approves systems and techniques of suppliers and processors.
Develops certification training and examinations.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- NDT/NDI certifications as a level 3 Technician per NAS 410 in Ultrasonic, X-ray, Dye Penetrant, Eddy Current, or Magnetic Particle
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment
- Current NAS410-Compliant Level 3 certification in Eddy Current
- 3+ years of experience using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
- Experience with Nondestructive Testing (NDT) for a Certified Level 3 per NAS410 in Ultrasonic Inspection or Radiographic Testing
- ASNT level III certification in UT (phased array) RT or ET
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.)

Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $110,000 – $140,000
