Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

As a Structures Product Development Lead on GS, you will:
- Develop product strategy aligned with mission roadmaps for spacecraft bus structures
- Drive the structure product strategy for cost, schedule, and technical execution from capture to production
- Be the bridge between Program Management and Production Operations
- Build and maintain a common product catalog
- Manage product improvement/optimization projects
- Positively influence product sourcing and Make/Buy strategies to reduce NRE (non-recurring engineering)
- Coordinate and resolve unplanned challenges and drive issue resolution across functional organizations
- Execute with speed and drive successful business execution from early capture phases to production start
- Track and benchmark structure products and support market assessments
- Provide tactical leadership and ensure support and engagement from functional organizations
- Drive Advanced List of Materials (ALMs) and Advanced Product Structures (APS) and ensure valid need dates through engineering release and demand loading
- Provide proposal support and basis of estimate (BOE) inputs to drive commonality and alignment with product strategy
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
