Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Senior Field Service Representative, ABV/JAB to provide on-site technical and sustainment support for Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), Joint Assault Bridge (JAB), and associated M1 Abrams-derived systems at Fort Hood, Texas. This position serves as the resident technical authority for tracked combat vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, readiness, fielding, modernization, and lifecycle sustainment activities. The Senior Field Service Representative works directly with operators, maintainers, military leadership, program organizations, and contractor personnel to resolve complex vehicle and mission-equipment issues and improve fleet readiness. The role also delivers hands-on operator and maintainer instruction while providing clear technical recommendations, maintenance assessments, and readiness reporting. Effective execution requires close coordination across maintenance and engineering organizations while maintaining disciplined attention to technical requirements, safety, quality, and mission priorities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site Subject Matter Expert for ABV, M1150, JAB, M1074, M1 Abrams-derived vehicles, and associated mission equipment and subsystems.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, recovery support, PMCS inspections, and readiness assessments for tracked combat vehicles.
- Diagnose and support repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, mobility, suspension, powertrain, vehicle control, and auxiliary systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ABV/JAB mission equipment, including Full Width Mine Plow systems, MK-155 Linear Demolition Charge systems, Lane Marking Systems, Combat Dozer Blade assemblies, assault bridge launch and recovery systems, and associated hydraulic and electrical subsystems.
- Support operator, field-level, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance activities using applicable technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance procedures, and modification instructions.
- Provide operator and maintainer training, over-the-shoulder instruction, technical mentorship, and hands-on demonstrations covering vehicle operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Support vehicle fielding, deprocessing, modernization, testing, sustainment, repair-parts planning, and maintenance-resource coordination while identifying recurring failure trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare maintenance reports, readiness assessments, deficiency documentation, and technical recommendations, and coordinate complex technical issues with Government personnel, Program Offices, OEM representatives, TACOM, PEO GCS, and supporting organizations.
- Ensure maintenance and sustainment activities comply with applicable safety procedures, technical requirements, quality standards, and maintenance regulations.
- Other duties as assigned in support of mission and business requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of eight (8) years of directly related military or civilian experience maintaining tracked combat vehicles, armored vehicles, heavy engineer equipment, or M1 Abrams-family platforms.
- Demonstrated professional experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on military or comparable heavy vehicle platforms.
- Professional experience performing operator, field-level, and intermediate maintenance and using technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Active Secret Clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Professional experience providing maintenance support in military maintenance shops, motor pools, or field environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- USMC MOS 1343 Assault Breacher Vehicle/Joint Assault Bridge Mechanic, USMC MOS 1341 Engineer Equipment Mechanic, USMC MOS 2146 Main Battle Tank Repairer/Technician, Army 91A Abrams System Maintainer, or comparable tracked combat vehicle maintenance background.
- Graduate of the Basic Engineer Equipment Mechanic Course or ABV/JAB Mechanic Course.
- Previous experience as a Field Service Representative, Technical Representative, Maintenance Advisor, or military maintenance instructor.
- Experience supporting TACOM, PEO GCS, Army Engineer organizations, Marine Corps engineer organizations, or combat vehicle sustainment programs.
- Experience supporting New Equipment Training, vehicle fielding, operational testing, modification, or modernization activities.
- Experience with GCSS-Army, maintenance readiness reporting, Army sustainment processes, or repair-parts management.
