Position Overview / Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The Senior People Manager- India provides overall leadership to the India People function and personnel achieving effective coordination of India-wide People strategies, activities, programs, and decision support contributing to STS’ operational requirements and strategic growth goals. Key areas of responsibility include optimization of HR systems, processes and collaboration, development and execution of strategies that support The People function’s achievement of the organization’s critical operational, growth and synergy goals. Demonstration and development of organizational excellence in the support of risk management, business development, decision support/analytics, acquisitions, systems and organization integrations, regulatory compliance, and I&D initiatives are essential elements of the impact this position will achieve.
The successful candidate will partner with the STS People team and People Partner and collaborate with senior leadership within India, operations, and corporate as well as the STS People Team community to develop and achieve People-focused strategies that fulfill workforce requirements in hiring, engagement, I&D, retention, total rewards, employee relations, and talent development for the more than 2,000 geographically dispersed employees.
Leveraging KBR’s industry-leading corporate resources and customizing STS-specific initiatives and programs, this senior leader will support the development and implementation of organization structures, talent resourcing requirements, workforce transition plans, career planning, reward and performance management tools and talent succession plans necessary to build organizational capabilities. This role also ensures the delivery of effective change management, employee relations, employee communications and inclusion and diversity programs to ensure optimal levels of employee engagement.
The Senior People Manager, India will:
- Work closely with the STS PLT to develop strategic plans for the areas of responsibility.
- Deliver creative, future focused People initiatives to continually evolve the Employee Value Proposition, including (but not limited to) Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Learning, Business Partnering, Talent Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion,
- Wellbeing, Retention, Compensation and Reward, HR Systems and Analytics to ensure that the organization has the required talent that is innovative, agile, and high performing.
- Champion collaboration across all stakeholders exploiting synergies, sharing knowledge and expertise and building enterprise-wide campaigns which drive strategic growth and success for the One KBR family.
- Operate as a strategic, HR business advisor to the STS PLT team, with solid business acumen, analytical skills and sound judgement to provide pragmatic commercial advice and critical thinking, challenge point-of-views when necessary and offering alternative, constructive suggestions to build talent capabilities and innovative solutions to support growth.
- Advocate for a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, embodying a values-driven, employee-centric organization.
- Ensure the implementation of excellent HR services and solutions across the areas of responsibility with timely and consistent delivery. Ensure HR effectiveness and that support is allocated appropriately to meet the changing needs of the organization.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
The Senior People Manager will be a strong HR and business leader with experience setting up and implementing strategy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a senior HR leader achieving the workforce requirements of a large, complex organization with challenging workforce requirements. This leader will be able to be an effective partner/influencer/confidant to a variety of stakeholders and teams.
Specifically, this manager will have/be:
- Proven track record of executing and delivering strategic HR initiatives with a deep understanding of ‘best-in-class’ human resources concepts, practices, and processes within the US government services environment ensuring HR’s contribution to the organization’s operational, financial and growth success.
- 12+ years of HR Generalist experience including 3+ years in a HR leadership role; Broad experience across all areas of HR. Experience to include knowledge of India specific HR rules, regulation, and practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human resources management or related HR or business discipline or equivalent experience required.
- Working knowledge of Workday workflows and reporting.
- Excellent analytical abilities, ability to gather, synthesize and present data effectively to draw conclusions, propose actions and address executive decision support requirements.
- Up to date knowledge and experience of Indian employment law, government compliance requirements and company policies and procedures.
- A history of establishing trust with professionals throughout an organization, functioning as a leader, advisor, business partner.
- Confident and effective relationship building skills at an executive level along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project and program management skills; monitored and driven projects through established metrics while understanding the nuances of the organization (being organizationally aware).
- Proactive and self-starter; approaches responsibilities with a thoughtful and appropriate sense of urgency - operates with a sense of responsiveness to the business and for the business and accustomed to working in a lean, dynamic organization where everyone roles their sleeves up.
- Strategy and support to growth imperatives, proposal activities.
- Articulate communicator, both verbal and written; communicates in a transparent manner to ensure seamless execution and coordination of strategic efforts. Excellent presentation content development and delivery.
- Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to cut through to the core of an issue.
- Proven experience managing change and integration work related to systems and processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective communicator at all levels of the organization. Has the ability to express ideas clearly and persuasively, and diplomatic/politically aware as needed.
- Willingness to travel domestically 15-25%
