Job Summary
The Maintenance and Repair Technician performs diagnostic evaluations and repairs of hand tools, hydraulic tools, battery-powered tools, hoists, and hot sticks. This role assists with other tool repair, mobile testing, and administrative branch duties as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform inspection and diagnostic evaluation of tools.
- Identify parts required to repair tools.
- Assist in preparing tool repair estimates for customers and placing orders for repair parts.
- Repair tools and perform quality control tests of repaired items.
- Buils custom rope products and ground sets.
- Perform high voltage testing.
- Enter data into computer system and maintain required documentation.
- May travel or otherwise assist mobile testing technician teams as required, including: loading and unloading material, conveying material per sales tickets, managing inventory, safely operating equipment, performing high-voltage testing, and maintaining appropriate documentation for billing.
- Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.
- Maintain a positive attitude and practices good interpersonal relations with customers and co-workers
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Background in repairing hydraulic systems or tools required.
- Background in repairing mechanical, battery, electric, and gas powered tools desired.
- Knowledge of safety practices.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand on your feet most of the day.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision and pay close attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
